Our History
Proud descendants of Ambroise Jobin and Marguerite Mandeville.
Several Jobins (and their spouses) were involved in the 1885 North-West Resistance They included: Ambroise Jobin Jr. (m. Annie Bremner), Louis Napoleon Jobin (m. Olive Dumas), Patrice Jobin, Pierre Jobin (m. Sarah McMillan) and finally Joseph Falcon Jobin (m. Henriette Bremner) who was the Captain of the Turtleford Metis. The 1885 North-West Resistance included many Métis and other indigenous peoples (Cree, Kainai, Piikani, Saulteaux and Siksika). The resistance was in response to broken treaties, starvation and encroachment on their lands by new settlers in what are now Saskatchewan and Alberta.
